Yes. All US military veterans and active duty service members train free with valid ID — they never pay for their own membership. If they want to bring their immediate family, the family add-on is $59/mo total, one price for the rest of the household.
Perfect. We scale every movement to your level. Most members start exactly where you are — coaches modify on the fly.
Adaptive fitness is strength and conditioning built around what your body can actually do, instead of around one standard movement everyone is expected to fit. An adaptive coach changes the load, range, position or equipment in real time — a squat becomes a seated press, a run becomes a push, a carry gets a different grip — so the training effect stays the same even when the movement doesn't. It's for wheelchair users, amputees, and anyone training around an injury, chronic pain, limited mobility or neurodivergence. It is not an easier separate class: it's the same session, scaled — which is why our adaptive athletes train right alongside everyone else.
Hawaii's only adaptive fitness program. We integrate adaptive athletes — wheelchair users, amputees, neurodivergent athletes, etc. — into regular sessions with personalized coaching and equipment.
DEKA is a 10-zone functional fitness benchmark by Spartan. BTB is Oahu's first and only Spartan DEKA affiliate. We coach DEKA Strong, Mile, and FIT.
Yes. We're an Active & Fit network gym — bring your card and your membership is covered.
Water, a towel, shoes you can run and lift in, and a willingness to be coached. We provide all equipment.
Yes, fully outdoor. We train rain or shine — Hawaii rain rarely lasts and the workout warms you up fast.
No. Veterans and active-duty service members train free because service is central to our mission, but Big Tire Bootcamp is open to the entire community. Beginners, older adults, first responders, families, and experienced athletes all train on the same field.
Adaptive coaching means the workout can adjust to the person. It supports athletes with disabilities, injuries, chronic conditions, limited mobility, different learning needs, and anyone who needs another way to perform a movement. There is no separate adaptive class — there is adaptive coaching in every class.
No. That is our job. Your coach explains the workout, demonstrates the movements, watches your form, and gives you modifications when needed. You do not have to design anything or figure out equipment on your own.
Yes. Regular Bootcamp sessions combine strength, cardio conditioning and functional movement, so each workout is independently complete. You do not have to organize your week around separate body-part days — every day you attend counts.
Then you are in the right place. You start with the version you can do today and build from there. You do not have to get fit before coming to Big Tire Bootcamp. The movement and intensity are scaled to you; the training stays meaningful and challenging at your level.
We brief the workout, warm up together, complete the coached full-body circuit, cool down, flip the big tire as a team, and finish with Coaches Corner. The warm-up prepares your body to move and helps reduce injury risk.
