Post Strong

Any post. Any field. Same standard.

We built an adaptive fitness program on a patch of grass behind the basketball courts in Ewa Beach. Veterans train free. Wheelchair users, amputees, visually impaired athletes and anyone working around an injury train in the same session as everyone else.

It works, it is not complicated, and it is not ours to keep. This page is the whole playbook, free to any post that wants it.

Why bother

What this gives your veterans

A post already has the two hardest things to buy: ground, and veterans who trust the people on it. Everything else on this page is logistics.

Before day one

What you actually need

Less than posts usually assume. The most common reason a post never starts is believing it needs a building.

A patch of ground

Grass, a lot, a pavilion, a corner of the parking area. No building, no floor, no mirrors. We train outdoors on a field behind the basketball courts.

One coach

One person willing to get certified. Not a team. We will tell you exactly which certifications matter and which are noise.

Four hours a week

Two sessions to start. An hour each, plus setup. A post that tries to open six days a week burns its lead out inside a quarter.

Insurance and waivers

Non-negotiable, and the part most posts get wrong. We hand you our waiver and intake forms and tell you what to ask your carrier.

The playbook

Seven steps to standing it up

In order. A post that buys equipment before it names a lead ends up with tires in a shed.

  1. Get your post to say yes

Bring it to your commander and your board. Ask for use of the ground, permission to run under the post's insurance, and a line in the minutes. Nothing else yet — no budget, no equipment.

  2. Name one program lead

One name, one phone number, one person accountable. This is the single biggest predictor of whether a post is still running in year two. It does not have to be the coach.

  3. Get one coach certified

Adaptive Training Academy for the adaptive work, a recognized CPT for the fundamentals, and current CPR/AED. We will point you at the right courses and review the coach's plan before your first session.

  4. Cover the legal ground

Confirm coverage with your carrier in writing. Adopt a waiver every participant signs before they touch anything. Set your medical-clearance rule and never make an exception to it.

  5. Set two session times and hold them

Same days, same hours, every week, whether two people show or twenty. Consistency is the whole product in the first six months. Do not move the time to chase attendance.

  6. Stand up your post in the app

We create your post inside BTB Strong. Your members get free accounts, your coach gets the session library and the scaling guide, and your check-ins start counting from day one.

  7. Run session one — with us on the line

We are on a call before it and after it. You send us how it went, what broke, and who showed. Then we do that again at thirty, sixty and ninety days.

What you get from us

You are not starting from scratch

Coach onboarding

A structured walk-through of how a session actually runs: the warm-up, the station rotation, the scaling calls, and how to coach an adaptive athlete in a mixed group without slowing anyone down.

The session library

Our workout templates, station cards and progressions — the same ones we run on Warrior Field. You are not writing programming from scratch.

The scaling guide

How a squat becomes a seated press, a run becomes a push, a carry gets a different grip. Written for a coach who has never worked with a wheelchair user before.

BTB Strong app access

Free member accounts for your veterans, check-in tracking, the workout library and your post's own roster. Your numbers, your post, one place.

Forms that already work

Waiver, intake, medical clearance and first-visit checklist. Adapt them with your own counsel — do not start from a blank page.

A monthly call and a direct line

One call a month with the other post leads. Between calls, you call us. Not a ticket system, not a portal — a phone number that a person answers.

The app

BTB Strong, set up for your post

Your veterans create free accounts. Their check-ins, their programming and their progress live in one place, under your post. You stop guessing at attendance and start reporting real numbers — to your board, to your department, and to anyone who asks what the program is doing.

Those numbers are also what makes a post fundable. Nobody sponsors a program that cannot say how many people it served last month.

There is no fee.

No franchise cost, no licensing, no per-member charge, nothing owed to us. We are a veterans’ program and so are you. You will spend money on certification, insurance and equipment — that money goes to your carrier and your coach, not to Big Tire Bootcamp.

What we ask in return is that you keep it free for veterans, and that you tell us the truth about how it is going.

Start the conversation

Tell us about your post

Send us your post number, where you are, and what ground you have. We will get on a call and walk your situation specifically — what you already have, what is missing, and whether you can realistically run a first session inside ninety days.

If the honest answer is that your post is not ready yet, we will say so and tell you what to fix first. We would rather you start late than start badly.

Not an AMVETS post? Other veteran service organizations have asked too. Reach out anyway — sponsorship is a separate path if you want to fund a program rather than run one.
