Sound Familiar?

You've picked your event — or you're about to. Now the clock matters. Generic training gets you fit; event prep gets you a time you're proud of. Every zone has a technique that saves seconds and a pacing mistake that costs minutes, and the difference between knowing and guessing shows up on the leaderboard.

These prep blocks are built to the exact format of your event: same zones, same order, same transitions, coached by people who've raced them.

What Changes For You

Say Yes, And Here's What You Get

01

Event-Exact Preparation

Train the precise zones, order, and transitions of your event — zero surprises on race day.

02

Pacing That Holds

Learn where to push and where to breathe, so zone 8 doesn't eat the time zone 2 saved.

03

Dress Rehearsals

Full mock events under the clock — you'll have 'raced' before you ever race.

04

Recovery Built In

Structured deloads and recovery protocols so you peak on event day, not two weeks before.

Coached on Oahu's only official DEKA affiliate field

About DEKA Strong / DEKA Mile

Coach-led prep blocks dialed to the exact format of DEKA Strong and DEKA Mile.

What To Expect

The DEKA Club

You can't buy your way in.

Everything else here has a price on it. This does not. You finish a DEKA event on Warrior Field and you are in — that is the whole requirement, and there is no second route.

One way in

DEKA is a ten-zone functional fitness benchmark built by Spartan. Ten stations of work, a run between each one in DEKA Mile, and a number at the end that means the same thing in Ewa Beach as it does anywhere else running it.

The club is everyone who has finished one of those events on our field. There is no fee, no tier, no application and nothing to renew. You are not admitted and you cannot be removed. You did it, so you are in it.

We are Oahu's first and only Spartan DEKA affiliate, which is the reason the event can happen on this island at all instead of costing you a plane ticket.

Two black DEKA flags flying from poles against a bright sky, with the West Oahu Veterans Center sign below them.

The ten zones

None of it is a secret. This is the whole list, in order, and it is the same list the judges are counting against.

  1. 0130 Reverse RAM Lunges
  2. 02500m Row
  3. 0320 Box Step-Overs
  4. 0425 Med Ball Sit-Ups
  5. 05500m Ski Erg
  6. 06100m Farmer Carry
  7. 0725 Cal Air Bike
  8. 0820 Dead Ball Shoulder-Overs
  9. 09100m Sled Push/Pull
  10. 1020 RAM Burpees

In DEKA Mile, a 160m run comes before each zone. Ten runs, and that is where the mile comes from — the distance is not a separate event bolted on, it is the thing between the work.

You can read that list a year out and train for exactly it. Most people do.

Where it happens

Warrior Field, behind the basketball courts at the AMVETS West Oahu Veterans Center in Ewa Beach. On event day the rig goes up, the zones get marked out across the grass, and judges count the reps out loud.

It is the same grass people train on every other week of the year. Nothing is trucked in to make it look like a venue. That is the point — you compete where you trained, on the surface you already know.

Warrior Field laid out as a DEKA course: the black rig under a flag, numbered zone signs spaced across the grass, shipping containers of equipment, and a tractor tire at the far end.

The roster

Being assembled, and it will go up here when it is right.

We are not going to guess at it. Everyone listed will be someone who finished, listed the way they asked to be listed — nobody gets published because a photograph proves they were there. If you crossed the line on our field and you want your name on this page, tell a coach.

What will never be on it: ages, contact details, or anything about what someone trains around. A finisher is listed as a finisher.

How you get in

Train for the ten zones, then do them on the day. That is it — there is no shortcut worth writing down.

You do not have to be fast. The ten zones do not care how long you take, and neither does the list — it only records that you finished.

Common Questions

Do I have to compete?

No. Many athletes use the DEKA format purely as a training framework — the structure is the value, the race is optional.

Which should I choose — Strong or Mile?

If running isn't your thing (or isn't yet), start with Strong. If you have a running base and want the fuller test, Mile. We'll help you pick at your assessment.

How long is a prep block?

Typically 6–8 weeks leading into an event, layered on top of regular bootcamp sessions. Tell us your event date and we'll back-plan it.
