The
25-Minute
Watch
We start at 8:46.
We finish at 9:11.
Twenty-five minutes on the clock — one for every year since. Eleven reps every minute on the minute. That is the whole workout, and that is the whole point.

How it runs
Short enough to explain while people are still walking in.
- 7:30 AM — Byrna Leeward less-lethal demo (18+)
Optional, and separate from the memorial. Range closes before 8:30 so the field is clear for the flag.
- 8:15 — arrive
Park, find us on the field, and get your movement sorted before the flag.
- 8:30 — the flag, and silence
We form up and stand. Nothing else happens.
- 8:46 AM — the first rep
The minute the first plane hit the North Tower is the minute we start moving. 25 minutes, one for each year since. Everyone starts together.
- Every minute on the minute: 11 reps
A 25-minute EMOM. Eleven reps, for the eleventh, then rest whatever is left of the minute. That rest is how a 70-year-old and a Spartan racer do the same workout side by side.
- 9:11 — we stop
Everyone finishes at the same moment. That is the memorial, complete. Breakfast after, as always.
- Then, if you want it — the log
Optional. One log, rope handles, 25 laps of the track — one for each year. It does not touch the ground.
That is it — a 25-minute EMOM, the same format we run all the time. No heats, no scoring, no leaderboard. If you can move, you can do this, and you will finish it.
Pick your movement
You choose it, and you stay with it for all twenty-five minutes. One rule: pick something you can still do on minute twenty-five — not something you can do on minute one. Almost everybody picks too hard the first time.
The person beside you may be doing something completely different. That is the design, not a compromise.
- Air squat
- Or sit-to-stand from the bench
- Push-up
- Hands on the bar or the wall if the floor is too much
- Sit-up
- Or a seated crunch
- Sandbag to shoulder
- Pick a weight you'd call easy on minute one
- Seated press
- Bar, band or dumbbell, from the chair
- Step-up
- Low box. Twenty-five minutes is a long time on a high one
It does not touch the ground.
The memorial ends at 9:11 AM. Anyone who wants to keep going stays for the log — one log with rope handles, carried 25 laps of the track, one lap for each year. Roughly three and a half miles.
From the moment it comes up to the moment the last lap ends, it does not touch the ground. Not once. When your hands are done, you call it and someone takes the handle before you let go. Nobody carries it the whole way. Somebody is always carrying it.
That is the part worth showing up for. If you want the weight, wear a 25 lb plate or vest for the 25 laps — twenty-five pounds for twenty-five years. Bring your own; we have no loaners.
But the weight is optional and the handle is the point. Every set of hands counts the same, loaded or not.
If your hands are not up for it, come for the 25 minutes and stay for breakfast. The memorial is the part everyone does together, and you will not have missed it.
Byrna Leeward less-lethal demonstration
Byrna Leeward — a veteran-run shop out of Waipahu — will be on site from 7:30 AM with a live demonstration of less-lethal personal defense options. You can handle the equipment and try shooting the different rounds.
Participants must be 18 or older. Their staff runs the safety brief and supervises every shot — follow their instructions on the line, without exception.
This runs before the memorial and is separate from it. The range closes before8:30 so the field is clear and quiet for the flag. If you are only coming for 25 minutes at 8:46 AM, arrive at 8:30 as normal — there is nothing you need to do about the demo.
Twenty-five years, and the 25th is ours.
The 25th Infantry Division is based at Schofield Barracks, thirty minutes up the road. Tropic Lightning deployed again and again into the war that started that morning. Their families live here. Some of them train here.
Hawaii also knows what a surprise attack on America costs. Warrior Field sits minutes from Pearl Harbor.

Organized by Big Tire Bootcamp and AMVETS Hawaii. This is not an official 25th Infantry Division or Department of Defense event, and we do not speak for them — we honor them.
Stand with us
Free, and open to everyone — not just members. Bring your family. Bring someone who was there. Arrive by 8:15 so we can start the silence on time. RSVP is only so we know how many to expect — nobody is turned away.
We remember the 2,977 taken that day, the 343 firefighters who went up the stairs, and everyone who has carried it since.
